Online Products and Web Sites Similar to the Beautiful Blogs in Some Ways
Other companies have developed online products aimed at improving the communication between parents, teachers, and students (or that can be used for that purpose). Please note that although we include Facebook in our analysis, that is a site developed strictly for socializing. We include it because it can be adapted for use as an educational tool, but the other products have an educational focus. Some teachers have said these sites “draw out a higher level of discussion from students than might be elicited on a socially focused site.” When they use education-focused sites, students and parents tend to be more “formal”: “They’re not focused on socializing; they’re focused on their assignment.”
